The Nunc Filter Cap provides an extra safeguard against contamination. A unique 0.2µm, hydrophobic membrane composed of a 3-dimension matrix of polyethylene fibers is heat welded to a plug seal cap. The filter cap effectively excludes bacteria and fungal spores, while allowing optimal CO₂ exchange. The hydrophobic nature of the membrane prevents wetting, thus inhibiting the growth of bacteria and fungal spores through the filter into the flask.
