CytoBLUE, EZ-Bluez, and Firozeh are room temperature stable components of the β-gal detection systems. They have a longer shelf life than general X-Gal, IPTG, and X-a-Gal solutions. The proprietary aqueous-based solvent protects the reagents from rapid breakdown at room temperature and induces brighter colorimetric reactions. They are superior in performance, ready to use, solutions, exclusively produced and tested for all cloning and reporter assays. They are least toxic, do not require -20˚C freezing, and are stable at RT for extended periods. With these substrates there is no need to re-incubate or refrigerate to enhance color. No DMSO, No DMF, No Waiting, Shelf Life > 1 year at 40˚C.

X-α-gal (5-Bromo-4-Chloro-3-indolyl-α-D-galactopyranoside) is a chromogenic substance used to demonstrate α-galactosidase activity. Thus yeast S. cerevisiae which are positivie for this enzyme produce blue colonies when grown in the presence of X-α-gal. Used in yeast two-hybrid screens. X-α-gal can be dissolved in DMF at a concentration of 2mg/ml for premade plates or 20µg/ml for indicator plates. A ready-to-use solution with a concentration of 10 mg/mL is ideal for all β-gal screening assays. Firozeh™ X-Gal/IPTG Solution, 8 mg/mL, is a solution that is designed to induce as LacZ expression in the presence of (laclq) lac repressor. X-Gal Powder is a substrate most commonly used in conjunction with IPTG to identify bacterial colonies that contain recombinant plasmids by blue/white selection. X-a-Gal Powder ia a chromogenic substrate used to demonstrate a-galactosidase activity. IPTG Powder is commonly used inducer for β-Galactosidase activity in many bacterial gene sequences controlled by the lac operon.
