The E.Z.N.A.® Poly-Gel DNA Extraction Kit provides an efficient method to purify single or double stranded DNA fragments from polyacrylamide gel. The system includes the Poly-Gel Filter Column, which efficiently removes polyacrylamide gel from the sample. Purified DNA fragment, sizes 100bp–10kb, can be eluted from the HiBind® DNA spin column with low salt Elution Buffer or water. The DNA is ready for downstream applications including sequencing, ligations, PCR amplification, and restriction enzyme digestion.
The E.Z.N.A.® Ultra-Sep Gel Extraction Kit is a fast and economical system available for the isolation of large DNA fragments from agarose gels. The kit works by combining the silica particle method and gel extraction system. This solution-based kit is scalable, allowing versatility in the amount of starting material and flexible buffer volumes. DNA fragment sizes from 60kb–50kb are ready for downstream applications including ligations, PCR amplification, restriction enzyme digestion, and various labeling reactions.
Challenges of this technique include failure to completely remove agarose, DNA shearing, or very low yields, leading to problems in downstream applications. The E.Z.N.A.® Gel Extraction kit uses HiBind® DNA spin column technology to recover DNA bands 70bp–20kb in length from TAE/TBE grades of agarose gels with yields up to 85%. The purified DNA band of interest is ready for downstream applications such as ligations, PCR amplification, restriction enzyme digestion, and various labeling reactions. This kit can also be used to purify DNA fragments from PCR products and enzymatic reactions.
